Quick Thought: Like Wildflowers…

The last couple of weeks have been  c r a z y  and I feel like I’ve been running in circles just trying to get everything done. I’ve been struggling with sleeping well as of late (more on that in a future post), so I’ve just been trying to get through the days doing what I’ve gotta do. It’s important in seasons like this one that I remind myself that there’s beauty in the struggle and wonderful things to come. Enter today’s topic…

This post is just a tidbit nugget of wisdom I picked up on a few weeks ago, a reminder to us to remain intentional about persistence. During my trip up to Canada (find my Travel Oasis post from Québec here), I had a lot of downtime on the bus. Ten hours’ worth, actually. I spent a whole lot of time taking in the views with my headphones in, and I ended up seeing something that really caught my eye:

I noticed that the plants here were essentially growing out of the rocks, and I thought back to a quote I’d seen a few years ago that still holds true today:

“Like wildflowers, you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” – E.V.

When life throws us into the hardest places, that’s when we have the greatest chance to grow. We face adversity in our day-to-day, and honestly we all have every reason to quit at one point or another. But when we’re down in the throes of life and can’t seem to get a grasp on our next step, and we still find a way to flourish, we’ll cultivate a strength that will benefit us further down the road. We must maintain the resilience to find a bit of our light in the dark and move forward guided by that inward promise that it will be worth it.

My challenge for you, and for myself, today is to be a wildflower. Be unapologetically you, perfectly imperfect, and grow in all of the places where no one thinks you can. Only you can discover the depth of your resilience. Let’s grow.

Much Love, Quinn
